Greetings from Colorado!

As you have probably noticed, two of our main ministry projects are Tea ‘n Talks & and Home Care Kits.  Through Home Care Kits moms are invited to attend COMH-Unity Support Group gatherings and Tea ‘n Talk events, where they will have opportunities to connect with their peers and have opportunities to build mentor relationships to gain hope in their parenting journey, especially if they are struggling with anxiety or postpartum depression.  COMH Ministry & Tea ‘n Talk events are designed to reach the women and moms that need somewhere safe and inviting to connect with others who are like minded.

Since January of 2017, I have been very active in building this website and blog with the intention of bringing encouragement to families, specifically moms.  You can read more about it at www.socorrogill.com.

It is my heart’s desire to be able to reach many groups of people in churches, mom’s groups, and women’s events so they will be encouraged to walk faithfully with God and not give up.  This year we will continue to focus on our main initiatives, as mentioned above.  And, we are praying and planning for slow and steady growth as the doors of opportunity opens to continue growing relationships with current local organizations like:

Natural Grocers
Mardels Christian & Bookstore
Life's Options

Follow-up with local churches to update them on COMH-Unity groups and invite them to co-facilitate a small COMH-Unity group for their members

Continue monitoring and building up the Confessions of a Mother's Heart COMH-Unity Support Group online forum, and the quarterly gatherings in the Denver area, especially in Littleton, CO.

Facilitate at least two Tea 'n Talks this year, maybe more, as time and resources allow.

Business development to better serve our clients.  This means that I would participate in any necessary training's and/or conferences to learn how to grow this ministry and develop a professional network with other organizations.

2019 Mid-Year Ministry Report:

Back in January, many of us made resolutions that we hoped would be accomplished.  But, by now, most have probably forgotten about them or quit.  I hope if you made resolutions, they have been more successful than not!

My husband and I, too, sat down and prayed about what we would re-focus and adjust for this year.  Not only as a family, but as a family ministry.  So, I’m writing to you today to give you a mid-year update on our ministry and to let you know what has come about since January of 2019.

Here’s a list of the things God has accomplished through my family’s passion to share the Love of Christ via TLC Squared Ministries, from January to June of 2019:

We’ve given away over 100 Home Care Kits through one-on-one connections via family, friends and even strangers!  That is three times more than last year alone!!
We’ve Hosted two quarterly Ladies TIME-Out’s in our home.  Commenced biblical training of women, using Sally Clarkson’s “Taking Motherhood to Hearts”, to train women to be facilitators for home groups for moms and God’s leading starting next year, Lord willing!
Hosted a Tea ‘n Talk at our local library and had returning and new attendees.
We were going to have a COMH-Unity Support Group Meeting at Natural Grocers of Littleton, Colorado, at the end of April, but had to cancel it due to my personal mental health and other last-minute schedule conflicts.  The reasons for the cancellation are discussed below.
Held two Confessions of a Mother’s Heart (COMH) Ministry Advisory Team meetings.
Facilitated a Home Care Kit Assembly Day with a local teens group as part of a ministry project.

Once again, we had several people gather in our home to put together the items that are placed in our Home Care Kits (HCK).  We were able to create 50+ kits to distribute to moms.  Since September of 2018, we’ve given away over 125 HCKs!  Every one of them has either been personally handed to a mom or mailed to their home!  We had a request from an online searcher too (a grandma)!!!  We’re hoping to build long lasting relationships with each mom and their family so we can accomplish our goal of “Re-creating Homes One Family at a Time”.

Received TWO “Thank You!” cards back from recipients.  I plan on framing them!!
Distributed more HCKs at our personal Adult and Pediatric dentists to give away and make them available to their patients, as they see fit;

We’re looking forward to the following by the end of this year:

I am completing a certificate online training program to better support the families we come in contact with via our social media presence and the daily personal encounters, through PSI (Postpartum Support International, www.postpartum.net).
I will be teaching Beginning Sewing classes to homeschool students / families to raise funds to support this ministry & train up the next generation of HCK bib/burp cloth makers!!!  My girls take classes at this co-op, so it’s was a no brainer for me to also teach.
Staying connected to the new HCK makers and distributers in California (churches).
Continuing conversations to establish more COMH-Unity HCK makers/distributers in Colorado & New Jersey.
November (Ladies TIME-Out Events; the Annual Thanksgiving gatherings)

December

Closing the year with a Christmas White Elephant Tea Cup Party to honor and thank the Confessions of a Mother’s Heart, COMH Ministry Advisory Team and volunteers.

Through Home Care Kits (see pamphlet), provided by TLC Squared, moms are invited to attend COMH-Unity Support Group gatherings and Tea ‘n Talk events online and/or in person, where they will have opportunities to connect with their peers and have opportunities to build mentor relationships to gain hope in their parenting journey, especially if they are struggling with anxiety or postpartum depression.  COMH Ministry & Tea ‘n Talk events are designed to reach the women and moms that need somewhere safe and inviting to connect with others who are like minded.  More detailed information can be found online at www.tlcsquared.org and by reading the Home Care Kit Info Pamphlet in this envelope.

I am still blogging, though not as frequently as I would like.  The new and old blogs can still be found at www.socorrogill.com and www.4gillgirl.wordpress.com to see for yourself.

It is my heart’s desire to be able to reach as many groups of people in churches, mom’s groups, and women’s events so they will be encouraged to walk faithfully and not give up.

I pray this letter has encouraged you to go out and make a difference in your community or around the world.  If you feel led to come along side me in this family ministry, please read on to see how you can do that.

Annual Ministry Budget Needs:

TLC Squared is in need of funds to cover new and recurring costs:
Website Provider - Annual fee of approximately $300 to web host TLC Squared.org, ConfessionsofaMothersheart.com and Socorrogill.com;
Administrative & travel costs to allow for TLC Squared Volunteer(s) to speak at local mom’s groups and other family events to promote the ministry, and raise positive awareness of postpartum depression, anxiety, and a woman’s reproductive cycle; Estimated between $2500 to $5000 for 2019.  Travel costs will depend on opportunities made available and locations designated for travel.  Our goal is to go from coast to coast and meet with connections we already have established.

Marketing / promotional materials and duplication of approved family resources (approximately $500 annually);
Home Care Kits ($15 each): Annual goal is 250 for a total of $3750.  You can sponsor a Home Care Kit today!

In all, just under $ 10,000 is needed to become fully funded for the 2019 year. WE HAVEN’T MET THIS GOAL YET! In fact, as of the end of June we have only brought in $861.22 in donations, book sales, and bank interest, so we could really use your help.

TLC Squared does not have paid staff.  So, there are no personnel costs.  This means your donation goes toward ministry and not salary.

We are volunteer based and family run!  Will you support us however you can?

In Christ’s Love,
